Travel Channel will no longer cover Wisconsin, the network said on Thursday, citing a new directive from the US Department of Homeland Security.
The directive, issued late Thursday, includes a blanket ban on air travel to the state.
“Travel Channel will be suspending coverage for travel to Wisconsin in the coming weeks, and we ask that you please continue to respect the privacy of the Wisconsin people,” the network stated.
“As travel restrictions remain in place, we want to ensure you have the opportunity to travel and stay safe.”
Wisconsin is one of six states that has imposed travel restrictions in the past two weeks following the deadly shooting of Michael Brown by police in Ferguson, Missouri.
