A year ago, I was working for an online travel site that deals with business travellers, and was told by a visa officer that the site was already processing applications from Jamaica.
I was told I would have to wait until a new application was received to get my visa.
That was just before Christmas, and I was stuck with a month’s wait.
The wait to get through the visa process was a huge pain, and in the end, the officer decided to cancel the visa application, because the applicant wasn’t eligible to travel to Jamaica.
When I returned to the UK after my visa had been cancelled, I tried to apply again but was told that the visa officer hadn’t given me an update on the case.
A week later, I applied again, and again, no one had heard from the visa office.
So I applied on the next available date.
After a week of trying, I finally got my visa on December 19th.
It was a wonderful experience.
I met some lovely people, visited some nice places, and had a great time.
I’ll definitely return.
I’m a big fan of the Jamaican travel scene.
The island has great people, great food, great culture and history, and great places to explore and enjoy.
It’s hard to believe that a small island of 1.6 million people can be home to a whole host of cultures, but I hope I’ll never have to leave.
I’d love to meet you, too!
